To Do Update – Updated…

Ok, so I lied, I am back before I’m all done.

This is the list I posted earlier, with updates as to what I’ve gotten done as of 7:41 p.m. in the afternoon.

1. Weekly cleaning (1 hour)  Worked a full 60 minutes, but have more to do later this week.

2. Run some Pure Romance products to a friend & get paid.  Finished

3. Go to bank, cash checks.  Finished

4. Go to post office, mail stuff to niece that I should have mailed last week (UH OH)  Finished

5. Grocery  Hubby did this for me.

6. Call Kitty re: weekend trip to Cincinnati.  Called, waiting to see what TDR says.

In addition, I’d like to:

7. Clean car Picked up most of the garbage, still need to vacuum and wipe down

8. Continue working on clearing out closet/Lorelei’s room NOT YET

9. Call or go to library Went to library, got cards, checked out books.

10. Do some budget adjustments to allow for some additional income and updated bills received.  Next on list!

So now, I only need to vacuum the car, some budgeting and closet cleaning.

I doubt I will do all those things as of tonight, but I did make some headway on my list.

SO yay me.

Busy Day So Far!!

Current mood: busy

It’s been a busy day so far!

We left the house around 11:00 a.m., and went and met a friend/former coworker to give her the bedroom toys she ordered.  Before we left, I got an email from another friend/former coworker who said she was coming with the other girl, and she wanted to order some stuff.  So instead of picking up $45, I picked up $65.  Then, I took Lola to Wendy’s to get some chicken nuggets.  She hasn’t had any for over a month so she actually seemed to appreciate it as a treat.

Then, we went to the bank and deposited the checks I had, and then we went to the post office.  There, we mailed my niece’s order (finally!).  After that, we went to our town library.  I signed up for a library card, and we checked out a few books.  I got 4 books for Lola, and an Elmo video.  I also got The Bonesetter’s Daughter by Amy Tan (I’ve heard this is good).  I also checked out a book about raising a family on less than two incomes, and that book about Eating Right For your Body Type.

Lola was really good at the library, she loved it as I knew she would.  She loved the pet Degus they had there.  They are a kind of rodent (a cute rodent), and she loved watching them run around on the treadmill and eat with their little paws.  Of course, she kept saying “Kitty Cat!”  I had a moment of irritation, when I was trying to explain that they weren’t kitty cats, I didn’t want to try to explain about what a degu is, so I just said, “Sweetie, not a kitty — they are kind of like a mouse.”  This guy comes up behind and says, “No, they are more like a chinchilla.”  In a rude way.  I turned to him and said, “Well, I think the word chinchilla is a little advanced for my 22 month old–she’s never even heard that word before so I don’t think she could make a connection.  Anyway, a degu IS more like a mouse than a cat, wouldn’t you agree?”  And he got this really insulting look on his face, like I am an idiot or something.  Ugh.  Dork.  I try to teach my child new words, and after that I tried to teach her the word “degu” but she just kept saying kitty cat!  She’s got it in her mind that it’s a kitty cat!!  It’ll probably take additional visits to get that down correctly.

I think we will be going over to the library in the bigger town and checking out my Body Clutter book and the Saving Dinner books I wanted.  Lola will not know what to do in that huge paradise of kiddie stuff!

I also got Princess’s library card, so she’s ready to go when she wants to.

I think we are going to start utilizing the nearby Libraries a great deal more.  Books, of course.  But they have a great selection of books on tape, videos/dvds, and groups and programs.

Well, I put some of my products on eB@y, and I only put up a few things.  Some have bids, some don’t…most have people watching it.  If I don’t make a decent amount on the items then I will probably not put the rest of my stuff on eB@y either.  They recommend that you don’t put a reserve on things that are less expensive, and not to make a too-high opening bid.  On the things I put on there, price ranges from $11 to $20, I’m disturbed to say I’ve only got a couple of $.99 or $1.99 bids so far.  I think I’m going to learn a hard lesson.  On my more expensive items, I did put a low bid minimum and a reserve price so hopefully that will sell for the amount I want.  I saw how that was going pretty quick, so I decided to go into any of the items that didn’t have watchers or bidders and go ahead and change it so that I had a reserve or minimum bid that was closer to what I want to make on the item, and if they don’t sell, then they don’t sell, but I am not sending off a $15 product for $1.99.  Know what I mean?

Like I said before, I have about $1400 in products still to move out of here, I was kind of hoping eB@y would be a solution.  We’ll see.

I have a lot of cleaning to do this afternoon, and a grocery trip to get staples.  So I’m outtie!

We’ll see how much I get done.  I’ll be lucky if the first 6 get done.

Lola still has a fever today, but seems in a much better mood.  She slept with us, and she slept pretty good all night.  Not too much flailing and kicking.  Not that the peacefulness of her sleep helped me sleep better.  When I did sleep, I dreamt of my ex-husband.  He came here to cause trouble and Hubby was on the way home, and I was afraid he’d get there and they would fight.  Ex-Hubby had a girlfriend with him, and he just walked into my house, sat down on my couch like he was invited, and started insulting me and acting like his life was so much better than mine.  I called Hubby to let him know that Ex was there and please, not to get into a fight etc.  I sat there talking to Ex-Hubby, trying to be nice and see what was going on in his life and he just kept acting like the ass he is.  Finally, I said, what’s the point of this visit?  Why are you here?  What are you trying to tell me?  Are you trying to make me jealous of your girlfriend or what?  (The girlfriend looked like a true barfly – rode hard, put away wet, so I’m not sure what that meant)  He wouldn’t say, and I just sat there annoyed and wanting to scratch his eyes out.  By the end of the dream, I was actually wanting Hubby to get there and kick his ass.

Do you think maybe I have some unresolved anger issues towards the Ex?

That’s the second dream this week having to do with him.  The previous dream was that my cousin Ed that introduced us in the first place, showed up to a family function with Ex-Hubby in tow, and it was obvious it was just to make trouble for me.  I ended up getting into a huge fight with cousin Ed and told him that any love I felt for him before was gone now because he did something purposely to hurt me.  I don’t know what this all means.  My cousin Ed and I used to be really close.  As he was close to my Ex-Hubby too.  We were different parts of his life and Ex-Hubby and I never met until we were all about 18 or 19, and it was a matchmaking thing by cousin Ed.  We did end up together, and then after we broke up, Ed’s life was away from us and although we are on the surface ok with each other, he hasn’t contacted me or returned my calls for a couple of years.  Keep in mind he married someone and she may be the issue.  I talked to him once a couple of years ago and he was really depressed.  So I don’t know.  Anyway, I sent him a Christmas card this year, with a family photo, etc. and he never called or wrote back.  I’ve sent messages through his mom, and no response.  My aunt tells me none of them hear from Ex-Hubby so I don’t think that is it.  I talk to my aunt and uncle sometimes and they are fine with me and they know all the details about what happened between me and Ex-Hubby, because my mom told them.

I gotta go, grumpy kid making lots of noise.  Can’t concentrate.

Library card

Current mood: contemplative

Just hanging out on here for a few minutes.  Today was fun actually.  I made breakfast for everybody – scrambled or fried eggs as ordered by the residents.  Yesterday, I made pancakes.  I don’t think the family knows what to make of this. LOL.  But I don’t hear much complaining as food is vacuumed off the plates.

This week, I am going to do something I’ve been putting off for years — getting a library card.  My town’s library has a cooperation agreement with another local library that is a lot bigger, so anything I can’t find at our library, I can get at the other library.  We are discussing a weekly trip to the big library, they are open on Sundays from 1-5 during the school year.  I’m thinking we will go, get a few books, and go home and the rest of the day is no TV…just reading and relaxing.  I’m impressed with the big library in the other town — it has everything you can imagine.  A huge selection of books on tape, an impressive video/dvd collection, a surprisingly good CD collection, and of course the books.  They have “quiet study” rooms that you can go into to read or do research, and the children’s area is amazing.

So, I want to get us going because I want to get FlyLady’s new book Body Clutter.  I can’t afford to buy it but I feel I really need to read it.  I am also going to get the Saving Dinner books by Leanne as well.

In more important news, Lola is sick.  She’s running a low-grade fever and has a runny nose right now, but I suspect this is just the beginning.  I hope it is a mild cold and nothing too heart-wrenching for me.  Right now, she is angry because we put her in bed.  I held her for over an hour watching Blues Clues before she went to bed.  However, she is definitely not wanting to go to bed in her own bed tonight, but she is going to.

I am feeling a bit better than I have the last couple of days.  I am thinking it is just PMS, and the meds are still working.  The reason I say that is that normally, my PMS would be a lot worse than it is, and I would have absolutely no energy at all.  But I’m not seeing a huge decrease in energy, and still feel motivated like I have been the last few weeks.

I am still working on getting my routines in order for morning and evening.  A couple more weeks should solidify things even more.  Then, I am going to start working on incorporating a few more health conscious habits into the routine.  That is why I want to read Body Clutter.  I am having a hard time releasing some of the habits and thought patterns I need to release in order to live healthier.  It’s not even about losing the weight, although I wouldn’t mind if I did.  But I am a perfectionist and I don’t know how to do anything except in an all-or-nothing fashion.  The cool thing about FLYLady and Crew is that they are all perfectionists, too, and have learned that perfectionism keeps you stuck in a rut because you don’t do anything.  Their approach to living healthier and weight loss is geared towards those who have all-or-nothing thinking and have emotional clutter that is causing them to eat or be attached to certain unhealthy habits.  I would like to work through that and find out what my emotional triggers are for eating the wrong things.  I am also interested in getting some ideas for healthy meals, because everything I have ever known is southern cooking or junk food.  I have no idea how to compile a variety of healthy lunches and dinners.  The healthy meals I do know how to make or can think of, aren’t enough to have a good variety, I’d get burned out really quick.  I’m also a very picky eater, there aren’t a lot of vegetables that I care for.  I have tried and tried again to try different vegetables and give them another chance, but just can’t find a way to prepare them so that I enjoy eating them.  Life can get kind of boring if all you eat are lettuce salads with only carrots, green beans, corn, potatoes, cooked spinach and cucumbers as vegetable sides.  I can’t stand broccoli, celery, peas, cabbage, cauliflower, brussels sprouts, avocado, artichokes, tomatoes, or peppers.  I don’t mind onions if chopped very fine.  My boss gave me some tomatoes that had been soaked overnight in oil and vinegar and spices, and that was actually good, but plain — no way.

Also, I do like asparagus, when it is cooked until tender and covered with butter LOL.  And I like olives, black and green.

Fruitwise, I don’t care for berries of any kind.  I don’t like cantaloupes or other melons other than watermelon.  I love bananas, lemons, apples, oranges, grapes, pineapple.  I can tolerate peaches.  I don’t like cherries, pears, plums, apricot, kiwi, pumpkins or other squash, figs, grapefruit, or limes.

See?  I’m picky.  But now that I have written it down, there is a bit more variety than I was thinking.

Well, I think I will spend the next few minutes getting ready for tomorrow.

I have nothing really important to say — except that it is funny but I was just reading through my previous entry, and read about how much I love Red Hot Chili Peppers, and guess what was playing, on random shuffle on my Media Player?  Yep! The Peppers.

I wish I had something to tell you today.  I just really don’t.  I spent a good portion of today figuring out a way to convert iTunes songs to MP3.  I did end up figuring out how, and then I spent time going through my impressive mp3 list and setting up several playlists according to my mood, with such names as Rock-Rap Energy, Rock Chill, Country Energy, Country Chill, Great Mood, Bad Ass, Dark/Sad, and Romantic.  Right now, I’m listening to Bad Ass Songs…Give It Away by Red Hot Chili Peppers currently.

Here, I’ll show you the songs I have on my Bad Ass Playlist…I like reading other peoples’ playlists because it gives me ideas of songs I might want to have for my collection.  I would be willing to rip any of you, my friends, a CD if you want one!

Did I give you any ideas of songs you want?

Drivin me nuts!

Somebody is feeling a bit needy today.  I’d like to write about it, but she’s hanging on my arm as I’m typing.  Insanity…

My hubby is home, I had great intentions for today, but alas, alack, he has stuff to do outside, of course.

You’d think he gets enough of being out in the ass-freezing cold every day at work.  But no, this is a chance for him to use the cute little snow plow mount for his lawn tractor.  LOL.  It is actually cute to see his face as he shovels the snow around with his little teeny plow.  I’ve seen that same look on Princess when she’s riding a particularly fun amusement park ride.  He gets so much pleasure out of simple things.  So, what do you think he gets out of a complexity like me?  No one knows.

I’m feeling funny today.  Good, yet not good.  The part of me that’s enjoying being all efficient is warring with this other part of me that says, “Lay around, watch movies, be a bad girl!”  Well, my decision is this — It’s 2:00 p.m. now.  I will continue my progress around the home until about 4:30.  Then, I’m done for the day, end of story.  I am going to lay under a blankie, drink my Dr. Pepper and read HP4.  Then, I will watch a string of chick flicks and force my husband to sit there with me while I do it.  During which time, he will rub my feet with a heat massager thingy.  LOL.  But of course, you know that he will get his stinky feet massaged too.  😉

I’ve decided one of my new favorite songs is “Snow (Hey oh) by Red Hot Chili Peppers.  How is it that EVERY album they produce, I love almost every single song?  Anthony Kiedis is adorable.

I just came back to this, I started this at 2:04 and now its 3:30.  I have stuff to do, so I’ll check ya’ll out later.
